Plot
AshiqAbu is a former boxer. He is married and has a daughter. Though his family is small, limited to 3, Abu is unable to manage it. However, his wife supports him by all means and carries most of the responsibilities well. Abu works as a security for celebrities. Once, he is hired as a security guard for Sainul Akhmadov, a boxer, who is famous for knocking out his opponents in a few minutes inside the ring. A mishap turned everything down. What happened? How did it reflect in Abu’s life? The answers to these questions form the rest of the story.
Star Performance
Antony Varghese performed well with dedication. His expressions are impressive. Lijomol is fantastic in her role. She is so natural in emoting and there are no exaggerated expressions. Vijayaraghavan fit well as the coach. Mo Ismail is good in his role as Sainul Akhmadov. Jess Sweejan, who played the daughter of Antony and Lijomol, delivered a decent performance.
Analysis
Daveed is the directorial debut of Govind Vishnu. The lead character was named after director Ashiq Abu, as Govind is inspired by the director. It is a different story with good characterization. However, a few scenes appeared to be over the top, but not the performances. The first half is interesting, and the second half is compelling, too. The dialogue is good. However, certain template things needed for a sports movie can’t be avoided here. The visuals and action choreography are excellent. The editing is pretty decent. The BGM is good in the action scenes.

Verdict
Despite the flaws, this sports film has all the essential things needed for a family entertainer and some compelling scenes for a sports movie. It is a good one-time watch!
